Bobby Wayne Gardner

Funeral service for Rev. Bobby Wayne Gardner, 76, will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at Gray Brown-Service Mortuary with the Rev. Harold Payne officiating. Burial will follow at Lloyd’s Chapel cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Monday night at the funeral home. Rev. Gardner passed away Friday at Regional Medical Center surrounded by his family.

Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Peggy Gardner; his children, Karen Head, Pamela Adcock, Bobby Wayne Gardner Jr. (Pam), Renee Ledbetter, Sharon Brooks (Jeff), Steven Gardner; thirteen grandchildren; nine greatgrandchildren; sister, Dorothy Brown; brother Jerrel Gardner, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Rev. Gardner is preceeded in death by his daughter, Vanessa Lee; his brothers, Buddy Gardner and J.L. Gardner; his sisters, Sue Reaves and Nellie Vandiver, and his parents.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Rev. Gardner was a native of Anniston and a pastor for 47 years. He pastored at over seven different churches and currently pastored for New Bethel Baptist in Jacksonville. He delivered the gospel over a live radio program on WANA and WDNG for several years. He loved listening to gospel music and had written several of his own songs and enjoyed playing music for his family at gatherings. He served as a chaplain at Regional Medical Center for three years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and leading people to God. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be greatly missed.
