Mr. Waldrop was born in Oneonta on March 30, 1939, to the late P.J. and Victoria Waldrop.
He lived in Munford until 1976 when he moved to Oxford and opened his first business on Hwy 78. From there he expanded his business ventures into Georgia, Louisiana and Texas. He used the resources from his successful businesses to benefit others. He will be remembered by many for his generosity.
He was the retired owner of Waldrop Electronics in Oxford and Waldrop Manufacturing in Anniston as well as several manufacturing plants in Texas. He was a member of the Encouragers Sunday School Class at Hillcrest Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years June, his children, Tina Waldrop Lamb, Todd, Tyler and Tiffany Waldrop, his sisters, Judy Mays and Juanita Bryant; brother, Daniel Waldrop; 5 grandchildren; 3 bonus grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, David Waldrop and his baby sister, Virginia Waldrop.
Funeral services will be held on Friday October 13th, 2:00 pm at Chapel Hill Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Thursday October 12th from 4pm until 6pm.
