Billy Douglas Shelton

Anniston – Funeral services for Mr. Billy Douglas Shelton, 78, of Anniston will be Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with Bro. Milton Harris officiating with burial to follow at Forestlawn Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday from 12 until service time at the funeral home.

Mr. Shelton went to his home in heaven on Sunday, June 19, 2016 to be with his heavenly Father, family and friends.

Mr. Shelton is survived by his friend and companion, Sue Wells; daughter, Erika Helm; sister, Betty (Don) Burge; special children, Donna Carroll, Leigh Anne Monday, Chet McClellen, Al McClellen, and Debbie Love; and many special grandchildren.

Mr. Shelton was preceded in death by his mother, Nonnie Shelton; father, Gaston Shelton; brothers, Billy Joe Shelton, and Jackie Shelton; and aunt, Mae Clark.

Pallbearers will be Tony Burgess, Ricky Noell, Michael Carroll, Michael Monday, Mike Monday, and Nathan Linn. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Griffey, Raymond Marsh, Charly Creswell, Charles Mundy, John Triplett, and Al McClellan.

Doug’s greatest joy in life was to tell others about his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Mr. Shelton served in the U.S. Marines for eight years.

Family will except flowers or donation to be made to Hillcrest Baptist Church Youth Ministry.
