Bill was a pillar of the community with a passion for spending time with his friends and family. His way with words and witty personality brought so much joy to anyone who knew him. He often left everyone on the edge of their seat anticipating what he would say next. Bill never met a stranger, and his love for horses, sports, world events, and other activities allowed him to relate to so many people. He lived a selfless life with only concern for taking care of others. He was so proud of his family and would never hesitate to share their accomplishments.
Bill is survived by his wife, Teresa Miller; his daughter Casie Spencer (Joel); his daughter Abby Mattox (Travis); his son Josh Whitley (Michelle); and his son Justin Whitley (Maggie); his mother Doris Miller; his brother Alan Miller (Lonna); his grandchildren Miller Spencer, Memphis Spencer, Elsie Mattox, Georgia Mattox and Ledger Whitley. Bill was preceded in death by his father Bill Miller Sr.
Visitation for Bill will begin on Monday, August 14, 2023, at 1:30 PM at Saks Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 4:00 PM at the church with Rev. Daniel Harper and Aaron Acker officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers are Rodney Mulkey, Greg Murphy, Keith Turner, Keith Mitchell, Steve Davies and Gene Harrell.
Bill had a way with words. Nobody could tell a story like he could. The trick was to see if you could figure out which parts were true and which parts were embellished. But that was the fun of it. What better way to honor him than to share your stories/memories of him with us.
We want to remember him for the son, brother, dad, husband, papaw and boss that he was. So, if you have a funny, uplifting story or memory with him, please send us an email or letter so we can celebrate who he was, not just to us, but to so many others.
