Funeral services for Arnold I. (Lee) Stern, Sr., 88, of Anniston, will be 3 pm, Sun. Feb. 22, 2015, at Gray Brown-Service Funeral Home with Rev. Buddy Nelson, Rev. Dean Pearce and Rev. Dave Roberts officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-3 at Gray Brown prior to the service.
Mr. Stern died Tues., Feb. 17, in his home. He was a beloved: Dad, granddad, great granddad, Christian, mentor and coach. He earned numerous recognitions and awards throughout his lifetime.
Mr. Stern is preceded in death by his former wife Nona Bell Stern. Survivors include his wife Brenda Bundrum Stern; his daughter’s Sheila Stern Stewart and Dawn Newman; his son’s Arnold I. Stern, Jr. (Dawn), Ken Newman (Vanessa); 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Retired SFC Stern served in the U.S. Army for over 23 years and is a veteran of WWII, Korean War, and the Vietnam War. Full military honors will be observed.
