Raymond Frank Cook of Edgewater, MD passed away on January 17, 2019. He was born May 26, 1926 in Circleville, WV and graduated from Circleville High School. Mr. Cook retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1988 after 15 years as a machinist/model maker. He was a member of Heritage Baptist Church in Annapolis since 1983. Mr. Cook was a fifty-three year member and Past Master of the Annapolis Masonic Lodge #89; a fifty year member of Scottish Rite of Baltimore, Boumi Temple Shrine of Baltimore; life member of Annapolis Shrine Club; and Tall Cedars of Lebanon Forest #126 of Maryland.
He enjoyed fishing and boating on the Chesapeake Bay and watching baseball and football. Mr. Cook shared a birthday with his favorite actor, John Wayne, and enjoyed watching cowboy and Western movies.
He was predeceased by his first wife Lois Ann (Berry) Cook and his second wife Mildred “Mickie” (Rice) Cook. He is survived by a son, David E. Cook (Brenda) of Owings, MD; a daughter, Dureda June Hackman (Robert) of Ellicott City, MD; step-daughters Louise Wittman (Chris Roe) of Bountiful, UT and Marjorie Roth of Chandler, AZ; a sister, Ruby Phares (Robert) of Circleville, WV; three granddaughters, one grandson; and six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brothers, Herbert, Edgar, Morris and Charles and a granddaughter.
Visitation will be Friday, January 25, 2019 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at John M. Taylor Funeral Home, 147 Duke of Gloucester Street, Annapolis, MD. Funeral Services will be Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 11 a.m. in Heritage Baptist Church, 1740 Forest Drive, Annapolis, MD, with burial following at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, 1911 Forest Drive, Annapolis, MD.
