

Ramsay Alexander Moran (age 87) of Annapolis, Maryland passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. Ramsay was the beloved husband of Gay (nee DeMontravel) for 66 years. He was the loving father of Jeffrey (Kelley), Elizabeth (Mike), and Alexandra (Michael). Cherished grandfather of Alexander, Grace, Allison and Luke.
Ramsay was born on October 25, 1935 in Queens, New York, the son of John A. Moran and Muriel I. Moran (nee Mackintosh). He graduated from Columbia College and received his MBA from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. Ramsay had a long and illustrious career in finance, working for several companies including Lonestar Industries.
He raised his family in Larchmont, NY where he enjoyed playing tennis, sailing and was an active parishioner at St. John’s Episcopal Church, eventually becoming Senior Warden. He and his beloved wife, Gay, retired to Annapolis, MD in 1996. In retirement, he enjoyed discovering the Chesapeake Bay in his boat, Blythe Spirit. He also was busy painting, doing crossword puzzles in pen and participating on several committees at St. Anne’s Episcopal Church.
Ramsay was a rock of support to his family at all times. A man of faith, Ramsay's ethics and integrity served as a compass for all those he met along his journey. Ramsay will always be remembered for his compassion, authenticity, and love of life.
A visitation will be held Thursday, March 30, 2023 from 6 to 8 PM at John M. Taylor Funeral Home, 147 Duke of Gloucester Street Annapolis, MD 21401. A funeral service will be held Friday, March 31, 2023 at 1:00 PM in Saint Anne Episcopal Church, Church Circle, Annapolis, MD 21401. There will be a reception immediately following at Saint Anne's parish hall, 199 Duke of Gloucester Street, Annapolis. A private interment will be held at National Memorial Park at a later date.
