Pauline Louise Haley Trost Pauline Trost, beloved wife of Admiral Carlisle A. H. Trost (USN Ret.), passed away surrounded by her family on January 7 at Anne Arundel Medical Center, from complications following a recent illness. She leaves behind her husband Carl, four children (Carl, Laura Lee Carrico and husband John, Steve and wife Gail, and Kathleen), and six grandchildren (Scott, Megan, and Justin Carrico, and Will, Haley, and Alexa Trost). Raised in Cottage City, Maryland, 60 years as a dedicated Navy wife took her throughout the world, including tours in Germany and Japan. After his retirement, she and her husband lived in Annapolis, most recently in Ginger Cove. She also enjoyed summers at the family beach house in Sandbridge, Virginia. She was the ship's sponsor of the submarine USS Pasadena. While wife of the Chief of Naval Operations, she conceived and promoted a concept to assist families of injured and ill service members, which became Fisher House, now with 64 locations worldwide and savings exceeding $282 million in travel and lodging expenses for military families. A memorial fund in Pauline's name has been set up at the Fisher House Foundation.
