Jack was a positive, loving person and was always quick with a smile. He had a wonderful way of embracing the positive and never focusing on the negative. He was a beloved Uncle and friend. Even during his toughest times he would quickly say that he was doing just fine, and then ask about how others were doing.

Jack’s family had a long history of military service, and Jack continued that tradition. He was drafted into the US Army and served honorably from 1960 to 1962. His specialty was Air Defense and he specialized on the Nike Missile which is a ground to air guided ballistic missile. After his basic training at Fort Dix, New Jersey, he was stationed at the Nike Missile headquarters in New Britain Connecticut. Jack achieved the rank of Specialist 4 and was awarded a good conduct medal.

It was always very interesting to talk with him about his travels, and he loved to share his experiences with others.
