Jack was born on March 23, 1931, his mother’s birthday, in Pittsburgh, PA , to Lillian (Rosemeyer) Angel and Anthony John Angel. He is predeceased by his wife Nanci (Granahan) Angel and his daughter Heidi Anne Angel.
Jack graduated from Crafton High School in 1949 then earned his Accounting Degree at Duquesne University in 1953 where he was an active member of the student body. He starred in several school sponsored musicals and plays at Duquesne and began his lifelong involvement in stage and song. Jack loved the spotlight. He also developed lasting friendships at Duquesne and served as Chapter President of the Kappa Sigma Phi Fraternity.
Following graduation Jack served as a Second Lieutenant in the US Army stationed in post-war Korea before embarking on his career in public accounting in Pittsburgh. To celebrate after successfully completing the CPA exam in 1959 he traveled to Miami Florida where he met the love of his life, and soon to be wife Nanci.
Jack and Nanci settled in Pittsburgh and lovingly welcomed three sons and a daughter into the world, building a strong family and continuing to advance his career while remaining true to his passions – faith, song and sports.
In the Summer of 1975 Jack and Nanci moved to Severna Park, MD. The Angel Family flourished in the Fair Oaks neighborhood. At the age of 50, he and Nanci welcomed their fourth son, Gregory Charles Angel.
Sadly, Nanci died in 1986 and Jack started an assignment that he had neither prepared for nor wanted – Jack became the single parent of a four year old boy. Anyone who knows Greg does not have to be told that Jack did an outstanding job.
Later in life Jack continued to enjoy his loves in life – through song as a choir member at Saint Mary’s Annapolis - to family as a father and grandfather – to sports as a devoted Orioles and Ravens fan.
He is survived by his brother Don Angel (Pittsburgh, PA) four sons John ( Ann Quinn), Brian, Tom ( Anne Angel) and Greg Angel ( Emily Angel) his grandchildren Jack, Lydia, Carly, Conor, Griffin, Isabel, Everett, Andrew and Betsy Angel- Kimener and her spouse Ashley Kimener- Angel
