Janet was born on May 30, 1933 in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania to the late Donald and Eleanor Smith. She Graduated Gettysburg High School in 1951, then received her nursing degree from Church Home and Hospital and School of Nursing in 1954.
She married Philip Elliott on September 11, 1954 whom she was married to for 65 years before his death. She pledged to Beta Sigma Phi international Sorority in 1961 and she received numerous awards for the service the chapter provide.
She is survived by 2 daughters: Kim and Kelly, twin sons: Kent and Keith, 4 grandchildren: Kent Jr., Stephanie, Ashley and Ally, 5 great grandchildren: Justin, Tyler, Ethan, Jordan and Cole.
