Frances Ridgeway McFaden, 89, born in Annapolis, MD, resident of the Bay Ridge Community, passed away Friday, November 30, 2018 peacefully in their family home. She was born July 9, 1929 to the late Ellen S. Sears and Franklyn Sherbert Ridgeway.
Frances graduated from Annapolis High School and then married her only love, the late Abner “Mac” Lee McFaden, April 7, 1948 for a total of 68 years of marriage. Mac proudly cared for her up until the day he passed in their home. He passed April 15, 2016 in the home at the age of 91.
Frances was employed with The Department of Natural Resources, Fisheries, Licenses and Public Relations for over 40 years.
Frances is survived by her sons, Frank and Tina McFaden of Stevensville, Md Paul and his wife Judy McFaden of Laplata, Md and her daughter Marcia Gibbs McFaden of Annapolis, MD, as well as her sisters Lillie Mae and Spurge Eismeier of Hillsmere, MD and Doris and Buddy Harris of NC; eight grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends that loved her dearly.
She was also preceded in death by her 3 sisters, Isabelle Ward, Shirley Terry and Dorthea Emerick and her brother Franklyn “Jerry” Shepard Ridgeway.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the monthly “Ladies Luncheon” overseen by Frances’ sister Lillie Mae who came into her hoe once a month to spread love and cheer. The family would also like to give a special thanks to Frances’ caretakers. These precious ladies came into her home and provided the utmost care, companionship, and love.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation Tuesday December 4, 2018 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the John M. Taylor Funeral Home 147 Duke of Gloucester St., Annapolis, MD 21401. A funeral service will be held Wednesday December 5, 2018 at 11 AM at the Taylor Chapel. Burial to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens
The family will receive family and friends after the interment at the family residence.
