Elizabeth Bryan Ball

On September 29, 2017 Elizabeth Bryan Ball, 88, known to her friends as Betty, went home to her Lord. Betty was a lifelong Annapolitan, graduate of Notre Dame College in Baltimore, Naval Officer and graduate of the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California. Betty’s duty stations included California, Japan, Hawaii and Washington, D.C. While commuting to Washington from Annapolis she met her future husband and their joint love of sailing the Severn River sealed their romance. After leaving the Navy and getting married, Betty enjoyed in her spare time guiding for Historic Annapolis, swimming, gardening, reading, playing the piano, painting, writing poetry and traveling but her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren. Betty is survived by her husband Joseph; son Bryan Ball (Kelly); daughter Julie Ball (Mark Hyman); grandchildren Jennifer, Kelly and Kyle Hyman. The family will receive friends at the John M. Taylor Funeral Home 147 Duke of Gloucester Street Annapolis, MD on Friday from 4 to 7 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Saint John Neumann Catholic Church 620 Bestgate Road Annapolis, MD on Saturday at 10:30 AM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers donations in her name may be made to Archdiocese for the Military Services USA P.O. Box 4469 Washington DC 20017 or a charity of your choosing.
