Dorothy Edith Rhodes

Mrs. Rhodes was born December 9, 1926, in Orlando, Florida. She graduated from Calvin Coolidge High School in Washington, DC. At the age of 21, she married the love of her life, after he returned home to her from World War II.

She was a devoted Mother of 5 children. She enjoyed family gatherings, knitting, cooking, swimming, and caring for her 29 grandchildren and great-grandchildren She loved the beach and animals of every kind. She was an avid golfer and enjoyed her time on the golf course. Once she raised her family, Mrs. Rhodes was successful in the secretarial field, working for the Government, NIH, and a resort Real Estate office.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years, Patrick J. Rhodes, Sr. in 2009.

Survivors include three daughters: Diana Marie Levinson of New York and New Canaan, Connecticut; Margaret Ann Jacobs of Annapolis; Denise Louise Bonner of Annapolis; two sons: Patrick James Rhodes, Jr. of Annapolis; John Timothy Rhodes of Ocean View, Delaware, 13 Grandchildren; and 16 Great Grandchildren.

The immediate family will gather for a private celebration of her rewarding and loving life. In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Rhodes' children ask that any memorial contributions be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake, 90 Richie Highway, Pasadena, Md. 21122.
