Daniel (Danny) Ford of Annapolis Maryland was born in Jacksonville, Florida and previously lived in Monterey, California and Glen Dale, Maryland. He died on Tuesday April 4th of complications from pneumonia.
Daniel attended a number of schools throughout his life among them Elwyn in Pennsylvania, Prince Georges County schools, and the Benedictine School on Maryland’s Eastern Shore.
If you met Danny once you were a friend for life and he never forgot you.
As an adult he lived at Langton Green and two different group homes in Arnold and Annapolis, MD. He worked at Providence Center growing plants. His home for much of the past 20 years has been on Marda Lane, Annapolis.
He was a big fan of the Baltimore Orioles and his favorite player was Cal Ripken. He also rooted for the US Naval Academy and could often be seen in around Annapolis wearing Navy hats, T-shirts, and sweatshirts. He enjoyed the ocean, listening to the Monkees and Shania Twain, eating out, going to the movies, boat trips on his father’s Boston Whaler, attending programs at Heritage Baptist Church and driving around town in the “red van.”
He is survived by his parents Joseph and Mary Ford of Annapolis, his brothers Michael and his wife Aileen and Kevin and his wife Susan, and his sister Cathleen.
He was blessed in his adult life to enjoy the love, friendship, and empathy of fabulous caregivers from Langton Green and wonderful housemates at Marda Lane.
There will be a Mass at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 109 Duke of Gloucester Street, Annapolis, Maryland at 0900 on Saturday, April 7, 2018
In lieu of flowers please make donations Langton Green at langtongreen.org .
