Claire Steitz

Claire was a loving daughter, sister, friend, and proud dog mom. She has a beautiful soul that brought light and humor to anyone and everyone around her. Although Claire is no longer physically with us, she leaves behind countless people who had the honor of being truly seen by her. As we grapple with the loss of her contagious laughter, smile, caring nature, and giving spirit, we find solace in the joy and compassion Claire shared with all of us.

Claire is survived by her mother, Margaret Schofield of Annapolis, MD; father, Hardie Steitz of Pittsburgh, PA; sister Natalie (Ryan) Liebscher of Colorado Springs, CO; three brothers: Cameron Steitz of Raleigh, NC, Quinn (Sydney) Steitz of Raleigh, NC, and Will Steitz of Winston Salem, NC as well as her nephews, Miles and Erik, niece, Aly, along with many cousins, aunts and uncles.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to an organization that supports those struggling with their mental health or a local dog rescue of your choice.

A memorial will be held at Quiet Waters Park in Annapolis, MD on Thursday, January 2, 2025 at 9AM. A Celebration of Life will be held at Sardis Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, NC on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at 1PM in the Sanctuary. Friends and family are invited to celebrate Claire in Maryland and Charlotte.
