Bettie Jane Harrison Bettie Jane Harrison died peacefully Tuesday, December 20, 2016 in the Health Care Center of BayWoods of Annapolis, Maryland from complications of Alzheimer ’s disease. She was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2000 and has been involved in several dementia type studies at Johns Hopkins. Bettie was born July 14, 1932 in Terre Haute, Indiana to Ruth and Delbert Rudisel. She had one brother, Dallas Rudisel. She is survived by her husband, Colonel James L. Harrison, USMC (retired); daughter, Lori Parkins; son, Thomas Harrison; and three grandchildren. Bettie earned a Bachelor of Science in Education degree from Indiana State Teachers College in 1954 and a Master of Science in Education degree from Purdue University in 1959. She taught in various schools throughout the United States and retired from the Prince William, Virginia school system in 2000. There will be a visitation from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. with memorial service at 11:30 on Wednesday December 28, 2016 at the John M. Taylor Funeral Home 147 Duke of Gloucester Street, Annapolis, MD 21401. Interment will be in the Crownsville Maryland Veterans Cemetery.
