Amy was born on January 24, 1965, to Vernon and Sally Hopkins in Annapolis, Maryland. Amy graduated from Annapolis Senior High School in 1983. After graduation, she began working for Annapolis Banking and Trust where she worked for over 35 years even after AB & T switched to PNC. Amy had one son, Andrew Russell, and one daughter, Sara Hoxter. She also had two bonus children, Amanda Russell and Rusty Russell.
Amy was a member of the Annapolis Moose Lodge #296, where she spent some of her weekend's dancing and listening to music. Amy was very kind hearted and always tried to help anyone that she could. She enjoyed camping, sitting by the fire, and going to Ocean City, especially for Bike Week. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially Rylynn. Amy enjoyed taking care of her squirrels, bowling, and always made sure to take lots of pictures.
Amy was preceded in death by her father, Vernon Hopkins and bonus son, Rusty Russell. She is survived by her mother Sally Hopkins, brothers, Steve and Gary (Mitzi) Hopkins, sisters, Rose Hopkins and Laura (David) Parkinson. Her son, Andrew (Ashley) Russell, her daughter, Sara Hoxter, and bonus daughter, Amanda (Matt) Russell. Her nieces, Lisa and Emily; nephews, Jason, David, Bryan and Kevin; granddaughter, Rylynn and bonus grandchildren, Jonathan, Calista, Leona and Grayson.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Susan G. Komen Foundation as she was a breast cancer survivor.

A visitation for Amy will be held Tuesday, July 18, 2023 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm at John M. Taylor Funeral Home, 147 Duke of Gloucester Street, Annapolis, Maryland 21401. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at 10:30 AM in Saint Mary Roman Catholic Church, 109 Duke of Gloucester Street, Annapolis, MD 21401. Interment Cedar Bluff Cemetery, Washington Street and Northwest Street. There will be a reception following the burial at Annapolis Moose Lodge #296, 1890 Crownsville Road, Annapolis, MD 21401.
