Mierzwa at the local roller rink while he was on leave from the Navy. After graduating from Jackson High School, Rosemary went to St. Joseph’s School of Nursing in Mt. Clemens as part of a paid government nursing program because of the war. She graduated in 1945. She went on to marry Stan on November 10, 1945.
Rosemary had an illustrious career as a nurse throughout the United States before settling down in Lansing, Michigan where she continued her career at Roselawn Nursing Home. After retirement, Rosemary volunteered at the VA Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
While the family is filled with deep sadness, they are also filled with such gratitude and love. Rosemary was, in a word, wonderful. The word most often used to describe Rosemary was pleasant. What an ordinary word to describe an extraordinary women perfectly. She was always so kind and welcoming to everyone. She found humor in difficult situations and was always quick with a joke. Rosemary took great pride in her family and was the most happy when her family was together sharing cocktails, laughter and dancing. She was the original “Google,” for her family who often called her for advice on how to do things. She gave the best hugs and snuggles and was adored by her grand and great grandchildren.
Rosemary is preceded in death by her husband Stan, her brother John, twin brothers Joseph and William and daughter-in-law Judy Mierzwa.
Rosemary is survived by her children Michael (Rosalee) Mierzwa, Margaret (Jon) Gordon, Mark Mierzwa, Laura (Cal) Rooney-Torres, Mary (Jeff) Humitz, and Monica (Don) Northcote along with 7 grandchildren, Nick, Emily (Jesse), Joe (Angela) Cameron (Jennifer), Connor (Logan), Max and Rosemary and 6 great-grandchildren, Kane, Jackson, Zelie, Adelaide, Cora and Jagger.
