Roberta J. (Bobbie) Kuhn passed away February 19, 2020. Born on December 28, 1928 to Robert and Margaret (Jardine) McEwan. Bobbie resided in Ann Arbor, Michigan until a recent move to StoryPoint Senior Living Community in Saline, Michigan.
Bobbie graduated from Ann Arbor High School in 1946. On September 4, 1948, she married Robert F. (Bob) Kuhn and they built a wonderful life together. She devoted the majority of her time to raising a family, but also worked at Goodyear’s Department Store, as a switchboard operator at Edwards Brothers, a part-time secretary at Dicken Elementary School, and later at The Ann Arbor News. She and Bob also operated a small business from the family’s Catherine Street location in downtown Ann Arbor.
Bobbie enjoyed traveling on summer vacations each year, visiting family and friends in Florida and California, and going on Disney cruises. When Bob retired from Michigan Bell, they enjoyed traveling to different destinations annually to attend his Navy reunions for 20 years. She and Bob enjoyed meeting friends for coffee and donuts at Dimo’s; it was a Saturday morning tradition.
Bobbie was a wonderful, loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family, and attending her grandchildren’s baseball and hockey games, gymnastic meets and dance recitals. Her favorite saying was “Family is Everything,”which she repeatedly told her family and anyone who visited with her.
Bobbie was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Her husband, Robert F. Kuhn; her sisters Marjorie Kuebler and Maryon Shively; and her parents Robert and Margaret McEwan preceded her in death. She is survived by her son, Rob Kuhn and his wife Sharon of Saline, MI; her daughter, Marti Smith and her husband Tim of Winter Springs, FL; her grandchildren, Jaime Kuhn of Ann Arbor, MI; Andrew Kuhn of Merced, CA; Kelli Smith and Kyle Smith of Winter Springs, FL; a great-grandson, Brock Lemire, as well as a niece, nephews and many cousins.
Visitation will be at Muehlig Funeral Chapel on Monday, February 24, 2020 from 5:00-8:00pm with a funeral service at Muehlig Funeral Chapel Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at 1:00pm with visitation from 12 noon until the time of the service.
The family extends appreciation to Arbor Hospice and StoryPoint of Saline for their loving care. Memorial contributions may be made to Arbor Hospice, Zion Lutheran Church, or a charity of choice.
