Robert “Bobby” Leewillington Knox was born on October 20,1936 in Ann Arbor at University Hospital to Ellwood Knox and Grace (Campbell) Knox. He was the oldest son of 5 children. At the young age of 17, Bobby enlisted in the U.S Army to serve fighting in the Korean war. Following the war, Bobby married his beautiful wife of 65 years, Sharon, and raised four wonderful children, Keith, Darren, Lori and William “Billy”. Bobby enjoyed the great outdoors! He loved visiting the lakes and rivers to go fishing, camping, biking or walking. Bobby’s pride and joy was his family, especially his grand and great-grandchildren. During any activity you’d always hear a tune coming from his mouth in the form of a whistle or song. But his mouth was always ready to crack a quick joke or let you know how it’s going to be! Most would remember Bobby as being very strong-willed. Some would even say he was stubborn! Either way he was a strong fighter, fighting all the way until the end. Robert passed away on January 20, 2023 at the age of 86 at the Beaumont Hospital in Taylor, Michigan. He is preceded in death by both parents Ellwood Knox and Grace (Campbell) Green, his siblings Dorothy “Dottie” Lake, Barbara “Butchie” Shemwell, Theresa “Terry” Chance and his son Keith Knox. He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife Sharon Knox, his children Darren Knox, Lori Allen and William Knox, as well as, Okhia Kim, Roslyn Wilson and Jared (Knox) Ireland, brother Ellwood “Corky” Knox, 22 grandchildren, and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
