Daily, Sr. Ralph Delphord of Ann Arbor, MI and New Smyrna and Daytona Beach, FL areas died Thursday, November 20, 2014, he was 84. Ralph was born on August 25, 1930 in Virginia, MN the son of Andrew Delphord Daily and Ruby Lois Barker Daily. He graduated in 1948 from Virginia, Minnesota Public Schools and entered the United States Air Force serving from 1948 to 1950; he then served in the National Guard and attended Community College in Duluth. He was called back into active duty and served until 1952. Under the G.I. Bill he graduated with honors in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University. In June of 1958 Ralph was united in marriage to Jean Augusta DuFresne. Together they shared 48 years and two sons before her death in 2006. Ralph had worked for Fisher Body in Janesville, WI, Detroit and Huntsville, AL Chrysler Rocket Program developing the Redstone Missile program. From 1960 until his retirement in 1985 Ralph worked for Kelsey-Hayes helping to develop the disc brake and then as manager in their advertising department. Ralph loved sports, especially tennis. He enjoyed travel and family vacations. He was a member of the Lion's Club and served as treasurer and president receiving awards for his work and helped to organize fundraising for the blind. Ralph was also a member of Ann Arbor Golf and Outing and St. Andrews Episcopal Church.He is survived by his sons; Ralph D. (Amy) Daily. Jr. and Paul Daily, grandchildren, Nicole and Ryan and beloved companion, Marian Huey. Visitation and reception will be Tuesday, November 25 from 4 -7 p.m. at the Muehlig Funeral Chapel, Ann Arbor. A funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at St. Andrews Episcopal Church (306 North Division Street, Ann Arbor) with visiting from 10AM until time of service.
