Lydia Belle Morton

Lydia Belle Morton; Was born September 8, 1916 and passed away at the age of 101 on November 28, 2017. Lydia was born in Ann Arbor Michigan to Ethel Louise (Turner) Charles Sylvester Cromwell. She had two siblings; Richard (still born) and George. On April 8, 1936 Lydia married Johnny Lee Morton and of this union they had four children. Cora L. Evans, Richard L. Morton (deceased), John C. Morton and Raymond H. Morton (deceased). Lydia Belle was a member of Second Baptist Church of Ann Arbor where four generations of family were faithful members for ninety- three years. She was instrumental in the decorating the sanctuary in the current building. Lydia Belle Morton leaves to cherish her memories: daughter, Cora L. Evans of Michigan, son, John Charles Morton of Arizona, twenty grandchildren, thirty-one great grandchildren, sixteen great great grandchildren, two great great great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation will be Monday, December 11, 2017 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Muehlig Funeral Chapel of Ann Arbor. Family hour will be on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at Second Baptist Church 850 Red Oak Rd., Ann Arbor, from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. with a Home Going Service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Mrs. Morton will be laid to rest at United Memorial Gardens.
