She was the beloved wife of the late Louis L. Orlin. Mrs. Orlin was born in Barre, VT, the daughter of the late Carl and the late Vivian (Coffin) Gray. She was a graduate of Hopedale High School, MA, Class of 1955, and also a graduate of University of Massachusetts, before relocating to Ann Arbor, MI.
Mrs. Orlin was a lifelong public servant and worked in the Ann Arbor Public School system throughout her career. In her retirement, Mrs. Orlin volunteered with Arbor Hospice for nearly 10 years. During her life she was involved with many social groups organized around books, culinary arts, and music, especially American jazz music. She always enjoyed watching Michigan sports teams. She found humor in everything.
She is survived by stepchildren David Orlin (Diane Winder) and Hugh Orlin, step grandson Karyl Stein, and step great grandchildren Ann Stein and William Stein. She is also survived by other family members Priscilla and Bill Lydon, Terry and Richard Dubois, and several other nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and several close friends. Mrs. Orlin was preceded in death by her brother, Albert C. Gray (Maryellen).
