I had him for a history course when I was an undergraduate at UoM (1961-1965). I have never forgotten how he lectured: moving from window to door and back again in front of the class, never looking at the class, and talking brilliantly without notes. I am glad he had good friends and am pleased to know about his interest in classical music. I will read some of his books now.

Dr.Price was indeed shy, kind, and generous.
He once told me over a French dinner in London that he was most popular with "children and small animals."  A splendid
scholar and a really good person to whom I
owe a great deal.
