Thomas, Gail D., Age 88, of Ann Arbor passed away peacefully November 11, 2017. He was born January 12, 1929, in Ann Arbor. He served honorably in the United States Marine Corps in China, from 1946-47. In 1948, he married Jean Larmee. He then began employment at Edwards Brothers, Inc in the press department and became press room supervisor, retiring in 1989. Gail is survived by his daughters Diane (John) Coghlin, of Kalamazoo, Linda Wagner, of Ann Arbor, and Karen (Greg) Giltrow, of Ann Arbor. He is also survived by grandsons Thomas (Molly) Giltrow, Scott Wagner, and Patrick Giltrow. Also surviving are his brother K. Ronald (Jane) Hagerman, sister-in-law Kathleen Hagerman, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Jean, his son-in-law, Mark Wagner, brothers Robert and James Hagerman, and nephew Michael Hagerman. He was a member of the American Legion of Saline and the Moose Lodge in Ann Arbor. He loved animals, especially his rescue dog Charlie. He enjoyed many hobbies, including antique cars, boating, hunting, snowmobiling, and traveling with his wife in their motorhome. He enjoyed fixing clocks and tinkering with his many weather stations and watches. As per his wishes, there will be no service. His daughters will host a lunch in his honor on Sunday, November 19th, from 1-4 PM at the home of Linda Wagner. The family would like to thank Brightstar Care, the Ann Arbor VA, and the Chelsea Retirement Community for their care and support.
