Eva was born on April 2, 1963 with a rare heart defect and a life expectancy of only 4 years. She beat the odds. With her zest for life and her spirit of strong-willed determination, she successfully endured many surgeries and medical procedures to lead a beautiful and full life.
She grew up in Ann Arbor with her six brothers and sisters, attended Bach Elementary, Slauson Middle School, and graduated from Pioneer High School in 1981. She was a Girl Scout in grade school, participated in drama in junior high and culinary arts in High School. During her lifetime she was employed by Sears, La Pinata Mexican Restaurant, Dexter Stamping, and was a parking attendant at the VA Hospital.
She enjoyed her travels to the Bahamas in high school, touring through Germany and Austria, and visiting family and friends around the U.S. Eva loved life, country music, playing bingo, sunny beaches, nature, animals and, most of all, being with her family and friends. She was an active member of the Ann Arbor Women of the Moose, Chapter 890 where she served as an appointed officer and earned her Friendship Degree in 2010 with the help of her co-workers.
Eva is survived by her mother, Marilyn O’Donnell Tower, brother, Jay(Yvette) Tower, sisters, Judy(John) Splitt, Dana(Mike Kovasckitz) Tower and Jacque (Larry) Osmonson, 24 nieces and nephews, her aunts Carol Starry, Ruth Casler and Alice Tower, and many dear friends. Eva was preceded in death by her father, Loyal and her brothers, Jim and David Tower.
We are grateful for the many doctors, nurses and medical staff who worked with Eva and for all of our friends and family who have given us their love and support – thank you for sharing Eva Jo’s amazing 47 years of life with us.
