Eleanor Inez Cunningham, born November 7th 1917 passed away on Saturday, July, 11, 2015. How do you sum up such a long, well lived life in one word? Amazing, Eleanor was an amazing woman in so many ways. She was born in Kenora ON and moved to Ann Arbor as a young woman ready to make her mark on the nursing scene in Michigan. Throughout her 97 years Eleanor was a glowing example of strength, independence, and caring in both her professional life and her personal life. With a life spanning so many generations, she was loved dearly by both those that have passed and those that remain. Eleanor's family included many other people as well; her neighbors, her fellow nurses, her church, her bridge club members, and her fellow volunteers to name a few. Thank you all for playing such a large part in her life.
To say Eleanor left a legacy is an understatement. In 2013 she was bestowed the first ever lifetime achievement award from the MI Association of Nurse Anesthetists, and today we honor the lady she was, we celebrate her life, and we look back at the memories that will live on in her name. Rest in Peace Eleanor. A celebration of her life will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 20, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Church (1400 W Stadium Blvd, Ann Arbor). The family will greet guests from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service.
