Ron "Leroy" Bowden, age 62, of Ankeny, Iowa passed away at home on Friday, September 24, 2021. Ron was born December 2, 1958 in La Vista, Nebraska to Ray and Norma (Meggers) Bowden. He graduated from Ankeny High School and went on to work for Anderson Windows and Storm Doors.
Ron enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys and Nebraska Cornhuskers, playing softball and coaching his son Ryan's baseball and football teams. He loved the outdoors, and going camping. He was a huge music lover, and was fond of listening to vinyl records. Ron enjoyed quizzing his family in “Name That Tune” style. He was a big history buff, and enjoyed sharing this passion with his children, while also fitting in "dad jokes" whenever he could.
Ron is survived by his wife, Sally (Kautzky) Bowden; children, Jessica and Ryan Bowden; sister, Wanda; brothers Ray "Butch,” Randy and Rod; as well as many, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his niece, Rebekah.
