Funeral Mass will be held at 12 p.m., Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Our Lady’s Immaculate Heart Catholic Church in Ankeny. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be held at Edgewood Cemetery in Knoxville, TN.
Robert Duane Kritenbrink Sr. was born on March 30, 1935 in Omaha, NE to Robert L. and Laurine (Schauland) Kritenbrink. He grew up in Omaha and received his education from Papillion High School while graduating in the class of 1953. A few years later Robert met and married the love of his life, Mary Ann Stibbs on January 25, 1964. The couple was united in marriage and were blessed with three children, Robert, Regina, and Mary Catherine. The family moved to Knoxville, TN while Robert made a career working as a store manager and later a regional manager with Tandy Leather Company.
Robert was an avid gardener and always enjoyed listening to Elvis and country music. Most of all, Robert loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and family who all held a special place in his heart.
Robert will be deeply missed by his children, Robert D. (Catherine) Kritenbrink, Regina (Richard) Rhodes, and Mary Catherine Prince; siblings, Darlene Drefs, Carole (Jim) Neuvirth, Roger (Sandee) Kritenbrink, and Jerry (Kandy) Kritenbrink. Robert is also survived by his six grandchildren, Elizabeth, Rebecca, Bobby, Alexus, Zachary, and Taylor. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Kritenbrink; parents, Robert L. and Laurine Kritenbrink; and sister and brother-in-law, Doris (Dean) Buchholz.
