Marianne Theresa Caudill passed away on Friday, February 21, 2025. She was born on May 26, 1942, to Charles Leo Kemper and Willa Pauline Kemper (Forrest) in Dayton, Ohio. A visitation service for Marianne will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Ankeny Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Ankeny Funeral Home.
Marianne attended a Catholic girls’ school through high school and one year of business college in Ohio. She met and married Boyd Caudill in 1961. Three children quickly followed. Working a lot of jobs throughout her life, Marianne worked and later retired as a bank teller. But the most important job to her was being mother of three to Tracy, Steve and Lisa. She loved being a grandmother and attending all her grandchildren’s school/sporting events. During her retirement, she enjoyed taking Girls Trips to Arizona with her Golden Girls. Marianne and her best friends (who called themselves the Golden Girls) would play card games, with canasta being Marianne’s favorite, and enjoy one margarita for the night.
Marianne was survived by her sister, Alice Raiff; her son, Steve Caudill; her daughter, Lisa (Doug) Johnson; her grandchildren, Elizabeth (Amos) Caudill and Julianne (Trent) Johnson; her great-grandchildren, Malachi, Gabrielle, and Greyson; her nephew, Ken Grushon; Her niece, Karen (Jim) Harmon; her great-niece, Hannah Grushon.
Marianne was preceded in death by her father, Charles Leo Kemper; her mother, Willa Pauline Kemper; her daughter, Tracy Caudill; her daughter-in-law, Kim Caudill; and her grandchild, Kyle Johnson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention for Kyle Johnson in Marianne’s memory.
