Lori Ann (Fite) Utoft, 52, of Ankeny passed away unexpectedly on February 24, 2021. She was born on May 5, 1968 to Sally Mildred (Stober) and Ernie Lee Fite in Ottumwa. She attended Ottumwa High School and graduated in 1986. Lori loved to travel and was a Chicago Black Hawks fanatic. She loved her job at Furst-McNess and her coworkers were like family to her. Her friends and family were her whole world. She enjoyed having wine with friends who knew Lori’s wine bar was always open. Lori had a close bond with her mother that she then passed down to her own children.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by her grandparents Clarence and Doris Stober.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Shelby Fite and Collin Culver; three brothers, Chuck (Pami) Fite, Todd (Susan) Fite, and a biological brother Steve Lage who she connected with later in her life; best friends, Kelly, Kari, and Shannon; an ex-husband and dear friend, Dennis Utoft; and her two cats, Bella and Leo.
A visitation will be held at Ankeny Funeral Home and Crematory on Sunday, February 28 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The funeral will be private, but the family encourages those not in attendance to join them via Facebook livestream for the service on Monday, March 1 at 10:00 a.m.
