Lori Ann Evans, 26, passed away Monday, September 7, 2015, at her home in Davenport, IA. A visitation will be held on Friday, September 11, 2015 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at Lutheran Church of Hope Ankeny (520 NW 36th St., Ankeny, IA 50023). A Celebration of her life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 11, 2015 at Lutheran Church of Hope ANkeny. A burial will follow services in the Ankeny Memorial Gardens cemetery. The family requests casual and comfortable attire and jeans are acceptable.
Lori was born May 25, 1989 in Ferriday, Louisiana to Terry Evans and Judy Taber. She graduated in 2007 from Ankeny High School. She attended ULM, DMACC and Grandview. Lori joined the National Guard, and later enlisted in the Army. She served her country in Hawaii, Texas, and Colorado. Lori worked as a Medical Laboratory Technician for Genesis Medical Center in Davenport.
Lori enjoyed her time serving in the Army and the friends she made. She was a fan of scary movies, but was sometimes afraid to go to bed after watching them. Lori loved softball and was thankful she had the chance to enjoy the game she loved for so long. She has many good friends from those years that have remained close to her. She made many long-lasting, cherished relationships in Ankeny during her school years. She liked to sing karaoke and spend time with her many friends in Davenport that gave her so much support and love. She was beautiful, witty, sassy, and stubborn to a fault and will be missed by many. She will be remembered by those who knew her for her kind heart, and her love of all animals, but especially her cats over the years, Panda, Shelby, Tweak, Mo, Chica, and Rini.
Lori is survived by her husband, Steve Gudka, mother and step-father Judy and Brian Taber, her father Terry Evans, brothers Adam and Steven Evans, and sister Kali Joines, grandparents Carno and Sharon Peoples, and Carlton and Louise Evans, Uncles and Aunts Jim and Edwina Arthur, Wendy and Leon Brownell, Jerry Evans, Bill and Marlyce Taber, Mike and Teresa Taber, Stan and Clara Taber, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Lori was preceded in death by her Aunt Janice Carroll and Cousin Derrick Arthur.
Memorial contributions may be directed towards the family to be used to assist local organizations in Lori’s name.
