Ankeny
John Patrick Davlin, 53, of Ankeny, passed away Tuesday, April 10 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston, Iowa following a courageous battle with leukemia. His body has been cremated and a visitation will be 6:00 to 7:30 p.m., Thursday, April 12th at Ankeny Funeral Home. Memorial Mass will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 14 at St. Anthony’s Church in Cedar Rapids, NE.
John was born February 14, 1959 to Thomas and Janice Davlin in Denver, Co. John graduated from Cedar Rapids High in 1977. After high school John attended Hastings Community College where he graduated with honors in Auto Body. John also graduated with a Bachelor of Science and Electronic Engineering Degree from DeVry. John has had a great career working at Dial Corp in Ft Madison, where he met his wife, Roquette America in Keokuk and spent the last 12 years working as an Engineer at Barilla America, a pasta manufacturing company in Ames IA, Avon NY and Italy. John married Renee Cagle on October 2, 1992.
Survivors include his wife and soul mate, Renee of Ankeny; daughter, Michelle (Michael) Gossen of Des Moines; his precious grandson, Michael Joseph Gossen; parents, Virgil and Janice Pugh of Belgrade, NE, Tom Davlin of Denver, CO; sister, Cheryl (Larry) Springer of Culbertson, NE; brothers, Tom (Pat) of Lincoln, NE, Bill (Tammy) of South Sioux City, NE, Mick (Fran) Pugh of Albion, NE, Rick Pugh of Harper, KS; and several nephews.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, and a brother, Lee J Pugh.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
