Jennifer Lou Mahlow

Jennifer Lou Mahlow, 83, passed into eternal glory on August 21, 2023. She held the stronghold of matriarch of the Mahlow family for 18 years after the passing of her soulmate Robert in 2005. She was always strong, willing to listen and provide hope in stressful situations.

Jennifer was born in Marshalltown, Iowa on August 15, 1940 to Martin and Margaret (Murray) Richeson. She was united in marriage to Robert Mahlow on July 15, 1961. Jennifer loved to travel and was planning several trips next year. She was an avid reader, quilter and seamstress as well as having many other talents. She worked for DMACC, Greyhound, and then Deere as a contractor.

Jennifer was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; granddaughter, Crystal Leigh; parents; brother-in-law and sister, Fran and Cynthia McAtee. Left to remember her are her children, Melinda Johnson, Martin (Kelli) Mahlow; grandchildren, Cassandra (Mitch) Wolfgram, Caitlin (James) Corbett, Mallory Mahlow, Mason Mahlow, Alan Johnson, and Zooey Johnson; great grandchildren, Samuel Wolfgram, Izabelle Wolfgram, Jimmy Corbett and Fiona Corbett and a multitude of extended family.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 517 SW Des Moines St., Ankeny, IA. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will follow the funeral service at Ankeny Memorial Gardens, 4208 North Ankeny Blvd, Ankeny, Iowa 50023.
