Jim was born October 12, 1935 to Kenneth and Vivian Rooker in Des Moines. He married Beverly McConkey January 8, 1966. Jim worked as a photo engraver for the Des Moines Register for 30 years, owned and operated Security Unlimited, and managed Maplewood Village for 16 years.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly Rooker of Ankeny; sons, Jimmy (Sherri) Rooker of Des Moines and Jeff Rooker of CA; step sons, Carl (Janice) Brandt of Des Moines, Jeff (Randi Ryan) Brandt of Des Moines, and Chris (Carol) Brandt of Waukee; ten grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Richard Rooker and one great-grandson.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family to be used for charity at a later date in Jim’s memory.
