James “Jim” Gullion, 62, died Saturday, July 3, 2010 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at Ankeny Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Gullion Cemetery at 12:30 pm in Attica, IA.
Jim was born February 9, 1948 in Albia, IA to Claude and Pauline Gullion. He was married to Annette Swan on June 4, 1970. They have lived in Lovilia, Chicago, Des Moines, and Pleasant Hill. He was a carpenter. Jim enjoyed gardening, fishing, bowling, playing cards, hunting, Christmas, and loved to be with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Annette Gullion of Ankeny, sisters; Claudine (Gerald) Ross, Verona (Junior) Goemaat, Billie Reid, Kay (Marvin) Leach, Bonnie (Keith) Purdy, and brother Clyde (Diane) Gullion. Sisters-is-law, Darlene Swan, Marge (George) Manella, brothers-in-law, Mike (Nora) Swan, and Bob (Terri) Swan, 36 nieces and nephews, 50 great-nieces and nephews, and seven great-great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers-in- law, Anthony Swan and Joseph Swan.
Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 pm Monday, July 5, at Ankeny Funeral Home.
