Efrain Rivera was born April 25, 1955, and grew up in New York. He was the son of Efrain and Monserrate Rivera. He received his undergraduate degree from New York University and his Juris Doctorate from Drake Law School. He worked as a public defender for many years.
He enjoyed do it yourself projects, working on motorcycles, archery, and research.
Survivors include his wife, Cecilia; his children, Kelsey and Gregory; as well as his father, Efrain; and sister, Rosa. He was preceded in death by his mother, Monserrate.
