Connie Ann Cox

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, July 8, 2017, at Ankeny Funeral Home, 1510 W. First Street in Ankeny. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday at Ankeny Funeral Home.

Connie Ann Luxford was born December 23, 1942, in Carroll, Iowa to Art and Opal (Ford) Luxford. She grew up in the Bagley, Iowa area, graduating in the class of 1961. Connie continued her education through Upper Iowa University while working at DuPont Pioneer.

On May 26, 1961, Connie was united in marriage to Eddie R. Cox. The couple was blessed with two children, Shelley and Steve. The family made their home in Ankeny, Iowa in 1975. Early in her career, Connie was employed as an administrative assistant with Ankeny Community Schools. As her children grew older, she held many positions in the IT department with DuPont Pioneer until her retirement.

Connie stayed very active quilting, sewing, and gardening. She enjoyed traveling during her years at Pioneer. Connie was an avid Iowa Hawkeye and Chicago Cubs fan. Most of all, she was the matriarch of her family, and treasured time spent with Eddie, her children, grandchildren and sister Norma who she loved deeply.

Connie will be missed by her husband of 56 years, Eddie Cox; children, Steve Cox and Shelley (Brad) Huss; sister, Norma Grassmeier; grandchildren, Trent Huss, Natalie Huss, Carley Huss, Sam Cox, and Matthew Cox; and many other extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Dean Luxford; and sister, Delores Hansen. Memorials may be directed to the family.
