A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 13, at 2:00 p.m. at Ankeny Funeral Home, 1510 West First Street, Ankeny, Iowa. Family will greet friends beginning at 12:00 p.m. This service will be live-streamed, the link can be found at ankenyfuneralhome.com under Charles’ obituary.
Chuck was born on December 2, 1939, in Marshalltown, Iowa to Wayne and Lorene (Fiscus) Stewart. He grew up in rural Liscomb and graduated from Conrad High School. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Administration from Iowa State University and a Master of Arts in Accounting from the University of Iowa. He was a graduate of the United States Navy's Officer Candidate School and served in the Navy on the West Coast from 1962-1965.
Chuck worked as a certified public accountant, a chief financial officer for a manufacturing firm, a business consultant, and a certified life and business coach. He was a member of Early Risers Toastmasters, Ankeny Rotary Club, Schonesland Porsche Club, and International Coaching Federation - Iowa Chapter.
Chuck enjoyed golf, sports cars, gatherings with friends, playing Pepper, reading, traveling, and learning and talking about spirituality and contemplative leadership. He was always ready for life’s next adventure.
Those who knew Chuck will remember him as a quiet man with a gentle soul who preferred listening to talking. Chuck touched many lives as a business coach and as a mentor to several coaches. He believed coaching can transform peoples’ lives, and he was highly admired by his fellow coaches.
He will be missed by his children, Keith (Paola), of Clive, Iowa, Kirt of Denver, Colorado, and Kent (Billie) of Winterset, Iowa; his grandchildren, Dalton, Emilee (Josh Gibbs), Tristan, Kyle (Bailey), Noah, Madison, and Kennedy; his great-grandchildren, Lane, Logan, Landon, and Maelee; his partner, Jolene Van Waus of Ankeny; her children, Brett (Tara) Van Waus of Colo, Iowa and Heath (Erin) Van Waus of St. Charles, Iowa; her grandchildren, Damen and Trevor; his sisters-in-law Rita Stewart and Sharon Stewart; and several nieces and nephews.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers, Alvin and LeRoy.
Chuck donated his body to Des Moines University, Medicine and Health Sciences. Inurnment will occur at a later date at Conrad Cemetery in Conrad, Iowa.
