Carol Esther Blair

Carol Esther Sage was born September 17, 1933 to Russell and Alice Sage in Waterloo, Iowa. Carol grew up in Ankeny and graduated from Ankeny High School in 1951. On August 31, 1951 Carol was united in marriage to Ronald Blair. They were blessed with four children.

Carol was a member of Ankeny Baptist Church, Ankeny Historical Society, and various card clubs and coffee groups. She enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her numerous friends. Carol’s family held a special place in her heart and she always kept them very close.

Survivors include her children, Chris (Michele) Blair, Rhonda (Buz) Phelps, and Debbie (Don) McAtee; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Phyllis (Norman) Fitch; daughter-in-law, Diane Blair; and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald; son, Michael; parents; and sister, Beverly Haun.
