Born on October 7, 1961 to Larry and Dorothy (Hannam) Donaghy, Brian proudly lived his life in Ankeny around old friends, new friends, and most importantly his family.
Brian lived an authentic life full of joy, love and endless laughter. For 35 years he was dedicated to operating their family’s business, Donaghy-Kempton Insurors, the business his father started in 1975 and which became the family legacy.
He never missed a chance to rock out to Bruce Springsteen or play a round of golf driving his 50-year-old golf cart, the oldest cart at Ankeny Golf and a serious point of pride for Brian. He piloted a boat with the best of ‘em and was always the loudest cheering on the Panthers, Hawkeyes, and Cyclones (in that order).
He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, brother-in-law, father-in-law, and grandfather. He was often known as Uncle Brian, and he’ll be sorely missed by his nieces and nephews as well as countless others he treated like family. He always made time, no matter what, no matter when.
Brian will live on in the treasured memories shared by his wife Andi and their three daughters: Christi (Stew) Gillmor, and children Hank and Margo; Molly (Sadie) Donaghy, and son Luca; and Amy (Sam) Priske. He will also be remembered by his siblings Dean (Amy Roberts) Donaghy, Joel (Jennifer) Donaghy, and Cindi (Kevin) Trevillyan and their families.
He was greeted in Heaven by his parents.
