Barbara Jean White

A visitation will be held 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, October 26, at Salem United Church of Christ, 320 NE 141st Ave. Alleman, Iowa. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 27, at the church with burial at Lincoln Cemetery.

Barbara White was born March 8, 1936, in Ankeny to Orville and Lydia Johnson. She graduated from Ankeny High School in 1954. On June 29, 1957 she was united in marriage to Dale White. She worked at John Deere Des Moines for 25 years as a Marketing Secretary until retiring in 1987. She was active in the Ankeny Historical Society, John Deere retirees, and enjoyed many years with the Penguins. Barb always loved to have coffee with neighbors, Penguins, and later Mill Pond friends.

She is survived by two children, Scott White of Davenport; David (Rose) White of Republic, Missouri; sister Carole (Reed) Clarkson of Anniston, Alabama; six grandchildren Amy, Andy, Jessica, Erin, Kevin, and Logan, and her loved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Dale; son Mark and wife Lora; infant son Kenneth; brother, Richard Johnson and wife Judy; and her parents.
