Barbara "Bobbie" J. Meeker

Barbara “Bobbie” Meeker, 72, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, October 21, 2022 after a long, hard fought battle with COPD. Per her last wishes, no funeral services are planned.

Bobbie was born September 11, 1950 in Columbus, Ohio to James and Thelma (McCoy) Meeker. She lived in Phoenix, Arizona and St. Louis, Missouri before making her home in Ankeny, Iowa where she lived the past 17 years.

Bobbie had several jobs over the years, but found a home and a second family at Menards. She absolutely loved her coworkers and missed her time with them once she couldn’t work anymore.

Bobbie is survived, and will forever be missed by her nieces, Melissa (Scott) Rogers and Sara Gushee; nephew, Josh Gushee; two great nephews, Aiden Rogers and Jayevion Harris; and brother-in-law, Arlinn Gushee. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Pamela Gushee (Meeker). She LOVED being an auntie and a sister and would do anything for anyone, but wouldn’t let anyone do for her.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks any donations be made to the ARL in Barbara’s honor.
