Angela Mann, 48, completed her journey after a long, courageous battle with cancer on March 16, 2017. The visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., on Monday, March 20 at Ankeny Christian Church. Funeral services will be held at 3:45 p.m., Tuesday, March 21, at Ankeny Christian Church with burial to follow at Ankeny Memorial Gardens.
Angela Kay Mann was born on December 7th, 1968, in Des Moines, Iowa. She was raised in Bondurant, Iowa and graduated from Bondurant-Farrar High School in the class of 1987. She continued her education at Central College, earning her degree in psychology.
On September 14th, 1991, Angela was united in marriage to James Mann at the Bondurant Christian Church. Eventually, the couple made their home in Ankeny and have been blessed with two daughters, Madison and Kiersten. Angie, along with her family, was a member of Ankeny Christian Church.
Following graduation, she took a job at the Des Moines Water Works as an Education Ambassador. In 1998, she furthered her education, receiving a Master’s in Science and Teaching from Drake University. She then went on to become a teacher at Crestview Elementary in West Des Moines. Later, she moved to Ankeny to begin teaching at Northwest Elementary. She taught as a 3rd grade teacher, substitute teacher, and media associate throughout her years in Ankeny.
Outside of teaching, Angie spent time with her family, read many books, went to plenty of concerts, loved attending the Iowa State Fair, cheered for the Iowa Hawkeyes, drove her daughters to their activities, took her dog on many walks, traveled, and was an amazing wife, mother, daughter, and friend.
Angie will be deeply missed by her husband, Jim Mann; daughters, Madison and Kiersten Mann; parents, Larry and Judy Haines; and parents-in-law, Paul and Mary Mann. She was preceded in death by her brother, William Haines; brother-in-law, Michael Mann; aunt, Connie Prond; grandparents, Pauline and William Clark; and grandparents, James and Louise Haines.
