1930 - 2024
Clemencia Mercedes Calderon, born in Quito, Ecuador, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2024. She was a beloved wife, mother, and sister, remembered for her unwavering love and vibrant spirit.
Clemencia was married to her first love, Pedro, for 68 wonderful years. Their love story began at a school dance, where Clemencia was invited by her brother Eduardo, a classmate of Pedro's. Together, they built a life filled with joy and adventure.
She was the proud mother of two sons: Vincent, born in Quito in 1957, and Alfred, born in Jersey City, New Jersey, in 1964. Clemencia cherished family gatherings and passed on her love for travel to her children, often reminiscing about their unforgettable trips to Europe. In her younger years, she truly lived life to the fullest, never letting the grass grow under her feet.
Clemencia had a passion for travel and a deep appreciation for Ecuadorian artists, often filling her home with their music. Her family would describe her as loving, resourceful, determined, and, at times, stubborn—qualities that endeared her to all who knew her.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Pedro; her sons, Vincent and Alfred; and her older brother, Francisco (Paco). Clemencia was preceded in death by her youngest brother, Eduardo; her older sisters, Eulalia and Magdalena; her mother, Rosario; and her father, Miguel.
