Randolph Stuart Page (Randy) passed away on Sunday, August 1, 2021, at home. Randy was born May 1, 1954 in San Francisco, CA to DeEtte Griswold Page and Leslie Andrew Page. In 1961 the family relocated to Ames, Iowa when Randy’s father, Dr. Leslie Page, accepted a position at the National Animal Disease Laboratory.
Randy’s profession was a crane operator with the Iowa Union Operating Engineers Local 234. He was employed at Hallett Construction Company from 1978 to 1993 where he operated backhoes, end loaders, bulldozers, and the "Page dragline" crane. He spent 15 years of his career in the cab of the “Page dragline”. Yes, the crane and Randy shared the same name. When the operations at Hallett’s ended he was employed by Story County, blowing snow and grading the gravel roads that Iowa is so famous for. The last years of his career involved operating the crane to erect wind mills around Iowa. He retired in 2019.
He was preceded in death by his parents, survived by his wife Kirsten, daughter Alexandra Page Chernin (Joel), grandsons Jeremy and Julian Chernin, siblings Mike Page, Kathy Seronko (Steve), Caroline Page, and extended family.
