Le Roy Edward Eggleston has passed away on Wednesday, January 8th, 2025 in Ames, Iowa. He was born on October 28th, 1936 in Eldora, Iowa to Charles Dean Eggleston and Vadna Eggleston (Ziesman). A visitation will be held on Monday, January 13th, 2025 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Stevens Memorial Chapel. A graveside service for Le Roy will be held on Monday, January 13th, 2025 at 12:00 p.m.
Le Roy graduated Eldora High School in 1955 then he entered into the Army in 1956 and served overseas in Germany for 18 months.. Visiting the farm museum was one Le Roy’s favorite pass times, so much so that he was a member of the museum. He loved working on the farm and tinkering with farm equipment as well as collecting model cars. Le Roy attended Bible Faith Church in Story City, IA.
Le Roy was survived by his wife, Mary Eggleston (Last) of Ames, IA; his children, Scott (Wendy) Eggleston of Greco Bend, TX, Kevin Eggleston of Iowa Falls, IA, Michele (Ron) Raska (Eggleston) of Coulter, IA and Tammie Eggleston of Mason City, IA; his step-daughter, Sheridan Booher of Ames, IA; his brothers, Allen (Anita) Eggleston of EauClair, WI, and Wayne (Connie) Eggleston of Temple, TX; his sister, Marilyn White of Fair Acres, NM; his eight grandchildren and his three great grandchildren.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, Charles Dean Eggleston and Vadna Eggleston (Ziesman); and his grandson, Wyatt Raska.
