Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Stevens Memorial Chapel, 607 28th Street, Ames, Iowa 50010. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 4, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Stevens Memorial Chapel in Ames. Burial will be following the service at the Ames Municipal Cemetery in Ames.
Larry was born on November 4, 1939 to Orville and Goldie (Curry) Beach in Ames, Iowa at his aunt and uncle’s home. He graduated from Ames High School in 1958. On July 22, 1961 he was united in marriage to Lynn DeMoss. Larry worked for Hy-Vee working his way up to Meat Department Manager where he served the community of Ames for over 43 years. Larry enjoyed playing cards, fishing, dancing and cheering on the Iowa State Cyclones and the Chicago Cubs. As a kid, Larry loved celebrating the 4th of July holiday at his grandparent’s farm. This led Larry and Lynn to host a 4th of July party at their home, a tradition that started in 1989.
Larry is survived by his loving daughters, Kimberly Beach and Kristin (Dave) Huss; grandchildren, Madison (Sam) and Mason; his special lady friend, Alechia Daniels; his brother, Doug (Jane) Beach; brother in law, Steven Epstein, and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lynn Beach; his parents; sister, Jo Moore; brother-in-laws, Roy DeMoss Jr., Gary DeMoss and sister in laws, JoAnn DeMoss and Karen Epstein.
The family is requesting that attendees of the visitation and the funeral service dress in ISU sports attire, Cubs sports attire or their favorite sports attire in loving memory of Larry.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family in loving memory of Larry. The family will be donating all memorials to a charity of their choosing at a later date.
