Jacqueline "Jackie" (Vanderpool) Buchman

Jacqueline Buchman, age 83, of Boone, Iowa passed away on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, from Stage 4 COPD and Pneumonia at Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at the Cedar Crossing Apartments Commons Area in Boone from 1 - 5 pm with a Memorial service at 2 pm.

Jackie was born to Audrey and Geraldine Vanderpool on June 29, 1939, in Red Oak, Iowa. She lived a full life and was known to many as a warm, fun-loving, funny, vibrant, and generous spirit. Jackie is loved and will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her companion, Bill Day; siblings, Ada (Randy) Dorrow, Carroll (Carl) Allender, William Vanderpool, and Richard (Sheena) Vanderpool; children, David Sweet, Diana (Ronald) Cunningham, Dennis Buchman, (step) Fawn Hennick, Anita (Craig) Wilkening, Audrey Buchman, Carrie Phipps, and Crystal Buchman; ex-sons-in-law, Michael Molitor and Robert Vandyke; 27 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Jackie was preceded in death by both parents; sister, Mary Lou Vanderpool; infant daughter, Joslyn Sweet; her husband of 40 years, John Buchman; sister-in-law, Linda Vanderpool; step-son, Russell Buchman; and daughters-in-law, Barbara Sweet and Kelly Buchman.

Memorials may be sent to Stevens Memorial Chapel and will be forwarded to the family for future designation in honor of Jackie.
